eLearning Course #C508-03: Accessibility Testing Techniques Using JAWS 6.2

This course is geared toward the testing and development professional who wants to add an extra dimension to their accessibility testing processes. One of the major issues when incorporating assistive technologies during accessibility testing is the lack of understanding about how to correctly use the product. If a tester does not fully understanding how to use assistive technology, then the accessibility testing will likely result in false positives or false negative results. This course is designed specifically for individuals without a visual disability and it teaches participants how to effectively and efficiently use the JAWS® screen reader to test a variety of content elements.

Objectives:

  • Explain benefits and appropriate situations for using the JAWS® screen reader during accessibility testing
  • Learn to modify JAWS® settings to expedite testing and reduce auditory fatigue
  • Identify a variety of strategies for testing different web-based and PDF elements such as Frames, Links, Graphics, etc.

eLearning Course #C508-04: PDF Accessibility Testing & Repair

This course teaches participants how to test and repair the most common accessibility issues found in PDF documents and fillable forms using Adobe Acrobat Professional. The first half of the course focuses on basic PDF document accessibility testing techniques. The second half of the course addresses advanced forms auditing. Since form fields are interactive, these PDF elements require additional modifications to ensure accessibility.

  • Review types of barriers to PDF accessibility
  • Learn how people with disabilities access content
  • Learn a two stage process for testing PDF files for accessibility
  • Identify strategies for eliminating accessibility barriers in PDF documents
