importance to project management and federal contract compliance.
Course Overview:
This course explains how to interpret, apply, test and repair Web-based
Intranet and Internet information and applications based upon Section 508
§1194.22 standards. Course information identifies each provision, provides
a corresponding plain language interpretation, discusses types of disabilities,
explores assistive technologies and engages the learner with a real project
scenario. Participants will learn accessibility testing and repair techniques
so they can design and repair existing web-based information and applications.
Course Overview:
This course is geared toward the testing and development professional who
wants to add an extra dimension to their accessibility testing processes.
One of the major issues when incorporating assistive technologies during
accessibility testing is the lack of understanding about how to correctly
use the product. If a tester does not fully understanding how to use assistive
technology, then the accessibility testing will likely result in false positives
or false negative results. This course is designed specifically for individuals
without a visual disability and it teaches participants how to effectively
and efficiently use the JAWS® screen reader to test a variety of content
elements.
Course Overview:
This course teaches participants how to test and repair the most common
accessibility issues found in PDF documents and fillable forms using Adobe
Acrobat Professional. The first half of the course focuses on basic PDF
document accessibility testing techniques. The second half of the course
addresses advanced forms auditing. Since form fields are interactive, these
PDF elements require additional modifications to ensure accessibility.
Course Overview:
This course explains and provides step by step instructions on how to create more accessible Microsoft Word 2003 documents. The principles of creating a logical document structure can be transferred to other applications and document design. By creating more accessible “source documents” there are fewer repairs when these documents are repurposed to tagged PDF. Creating more accessible Word documents also lets people using adaptive technology navigate them more efficiently and effectively.
